Love Story of Josh & Amanda

It all started when…
When Amanda first moved to Lubbock, she with her friend Hollyann to meet up with their friend Nick. Nick was at The Gunn's house and Josh was there as well. Amanda was sitting in the grass after saying hi to the people she did know that were there, and Josh went and sat down next to her in the grass. Amanda and Josh became friends from there and would hang out around their group of friends quite a bit. Around December Amanda and Josh started to hang out just the two of them a part from their other friends. In January Josh told Amanda that he really liked her and she told him that she did too. From there they started dating, fell in love, and then got engaged.
tHE LOVE STORY
I would say, being friends and then becoming best friends before dating has really helped set a firm, solid foundation for our relationship. It's so much fun being in love with your best friend.
tHE PROPOSAL
We had planned to have a date night to go see the Texas Tech orchestra. They were performing Stravinsky's Rite of Spring, which is one of Amanda's favorites. Earlier in the day Amanda had been at an audition with her Middle School choir students. Josh went over to The Gunn's house to figure out how to propose. Josh and his friend Kyle decided to do it in the entry way of The Gunn's house and have it decorated all pretty with lights. When we would come up to the door the lights would come on and Josh would get down on one knee. So while we were at the symphony Kyle sent a text asking if we wanted to hang out at the house after the symphony. Amanda figured it wouldn't be too late so that would be ok. When we got to their house, Amanda was walking up to the front door first and the lights came on. Josh told Amanda to turn around and he got down on his knee, pulled the ring out, and asked her to marry him.
What moment are you most looking forward to on your wedding day?
I'm most looking forward to the part where we are finally announced as Mr. and Mrs. Lee.
Why did you choose Twin Lakes?
We had looked at a couple of other venues before coming to look at Twin Lakes. A coworker of Josh's told him about Twin Lakes so we set up an appointment to go look at it. We both loved the venue, and it was in the perfect price range for us.
aDVISE FOR FUTURE COUPLES
Planning a wedding during Covid-19 has not been easy. Planning a wedding is already emotional enough, so adding the added emotional stress of the unknown of everything the virus brings has been so hard. Even when our world is opened up, there are many things that won't go back to normal. Be prepared for restrictions while planning a wedding for awhile. Enjoy the time being engaged and planning your wedding. Don't let the stress of it all consume you. Enjoy this time of life.
