"How cool would it be to grow up & tell your kids you married your high school sweetheart."
The love story of Kassandra & Blake

It all started when…
We met in high school in 2011. Anytime we ever saw each other in the halls we always smiled so big and gave each other big hugs. He was such a fun, kind and sweet spirit. He told me I was always so pretty and sweet. Time passed but we still kept some contact with each other over the years. We both moved to new cities but still saw what the other was up to on social media. We both moved back to Lubbock not far apart from each other. We mutually reach back out to each other to go on a date. That first date was simple, dinner and a movie. But something about that day felt like peace and that we could breathe when we were with each other. And from that day, it was history. I know beautiful things are in store for us and the family we create. <3
THE PROPOSAL
It was a simple proposal, kind of funny too. I had had a long and horrible day at work and when I came home he told me he had something for me and to close my eyes. He was digging in a plastic bag so in my mind I though he had brought me my favorite candy, sour gummy worms. When he told me to open my eyes, he was down on one knee with the box with the ring in his hand. I probably reacted for about a whole 5 minutes before I said yes. I was in shock but it was a happy shock. I was jumping out up and down and kept telling him, NO WAY in a good way. Then I started crying after I said yes and I was just so happy and through the moon.
WHAT MOMENT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO ON YOUR WEDDING DAY?
I look forward to the most the first look as I was down the aisle to my soon-to-be husband. I hope to see his face light up and that he is happy to see me. (Not that I want him to cry or anything but I hope to see some big emotions from him, Hahahahaha!)
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TWIN LAKES?
It was the first venue I went to see and I was in love as soon as I saw it. The picture-perfect place I saw myself getting married if I were to ever get married.
DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR FUTURE COUPLES?
Never feel afraid to open up to your partner about anything, good, bad, uncomfortable, or the unknown. We are all learning this life together and being able to come to your partner with anything is such a blessing. Always support the other and learn to understand and comprehend each other in each other's love languages. Never go to bed angry.
INTERESTING ITEM AT MY WEDDING
One thing we did instead of a guest book for our guests to sign, we did a guest board. It was a 20x30 paper board from Walgreens. Look out for when they have their 70% off deals for their posters, because we got it for $12 compared to what it could of really cost! I made the template via Canva, super easy and we loved it so much! We went home after the wedding and I knew my dress wouldn't fit in his truck so I got a simple, small dress from Shein to right as I'm going home! We are attempting to do our own DIY photo booth through an app called Simple Booth Halo through iOS systems.
WEDDING THEME/STYLE
Modern? I'm not too sure about a theme. The colors are dusty blue & white with navy and greenery accents. The bridemaids are in dusty blue, groomsmen are in dark grey and the groom is in black.
