It all started when…

This crazy adventure all started because I asked Cody to dance. (Let me just say that this man can dance!) I have been head over heels for him since that day. We started dating on February 15, 2019, and we have been dancing together ever since! I spent the first two years of our relationship watching and supporting Cody, while he chased his dream of playing D1 football. Even while chasing his dreams, Cody never seized to support me in chasing my dream of becoming a middle school teacher. Let's go ahead and fast forward to the story that everyone wants to hear!

THE PROPOSAL

So we are looking back at the beginning of our relationship, we had both agreed that if some day we were going to get married, we both wanted all of our family there for the proposal! (Men try to play it off that they forget the things we ask of them, but this has completely changed my mind!!) Cody and I had talked about getting married, our future together, and, of course, our future children (human and dog) many, many times! All of our conversations have led to this point, Cody had his family in town for his senior football game, and unknowingly, I planned it all. We had decided that it was the perfect time for family pictures and a few senior pictures as well. So I did everything from texting the photographer, setting up the nail appointments, and went and bought Cody and I new outfits for pictures! We show up to pictures and take some senior pictures of Cody in his football uniform in the Jones. Then we changed and got ready to take some family pictures. We took pictures with his family, then my family. Well, they all had a key word so his mom set us up in a pose where Cody and I standing on one side, and his sister and brother-in-law were on the other. This was the perfect place for him to pop the question. His mom said "Cody what are you doing???" I turned around and there he was, down on one knee. I was in shock!! I had no idea this was happening! Also, let me tell you that Cody knows how to pick a ring. He did so good!

WHAT IS THE MOST ANTICIPATED MOMENT OF YOUR WEDDING DAY?

Seeing each other for the first time.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TWIN LAKES?

We went out to a couple of different venues and we likes different things about all of them. Twin Lakes was the second to last venue that we looked at. We walked around the corner for the ceremony area and we both instantly knew that this was going to be the place that we got married. It was such an amazing moment that we both had. Twin Lakes has the most amazing set up for the ceremony space. It is truly breath taking.

IS THERE ANYTHING INTERESTING ABOUT YOUR WEDDING THAT MIGHT HELP FUTURE COUPLES?

Cody and I planned our wedding in two different states. Cody lived in Michigan and I was living in Texas.

ADVICE FOR FUTURE COUPLES

Wedding plan together. It is so stressful but it makes it so much more enjoyable. Cody and I planned our wedding from different states most of the time, but having the ability to sit down and make decisions together is something that we will cherish forever.
