A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TWIN LAKES WEDDING

A West Texas Love Story Unfolds by the Water & Under the Stars

Tucked away just outside of Lubbock, Twin Lakes Wedding and Event Center offers a rare blend of West Texas warmth, elegance, and wide-open skies. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at what a wedding day feels like at one of the Lubbock area's most picturesque venues.

9:00 AM – The Stillness of a West Texas Morning

The day begins with the signature stillness of the South Plains—crisp air, big skies, and that golden morning light unique to this part of Texas. Vendors begin to arrive, the gravel crunching under tires as the day quietly unfolds. Our team is already at work, preparing every detail for a celebration filled with joy, love, and that unmistakable West Texas charm.

9:30 AM – Bridal Suite Bliss

Inside our cozy bridal suite, the bride and her girls sip mimosas, get their hair done, and play a playlist full of girl-power favorites and nostalgic throwbacks. With plenty of space to spread out and take in the view of the wide open spaces, it’s a calm, joyful start to the day.

11:00 AM – Boots, Bourbon, and the Groom’s Crew

Over at the groom’s suite, it’s a more laid-back scene—cowboy boots, maybe a bottle of TX Whiskey, and a lot of West Texas banter. The guys are swapping stories with Texas Country music playing in the background. There’s laughter, teasing, and a steady build of anticipation.

1:00 PM – First Look Among the Mesquite trees

For couples choosing a first look, the quiet grove of mesquite trees near the water remains a favorite—where the breeze rustles just right and the Texas light bathes everything in a glow. It's an intimate, emotional moment that’s always beautifully captured. Some couples opt for a more private moment indoors, using our signature 'Green Room' with its reveal doors, while others choose the ceremony area itself—peaceful and tucked away—for a quiet first look before the guests arrive.

3:00 PM – Ceremony with Sky for Days

Guests begin to arrive, greeted with sweet tea or lemonade from the Silo Bar before they find their seats. Fans wave gently in hand as everyone settles in for the ceremony, framed by a classic West Texas landscape—glasslike water, big sky, and sunlight stretching forever. Whether in heels or heirloom boots, every walk down the aisle here feels like something out of a dream.

6:00 PM – Reception Under the Stars

As the sun sets, dinner is served—whether it’s smoked brisket with mac & cheese or an elegant plated meal featuring local ingredients. String lights twinkle above as toasts are made, laughter echoes across the property, and stories are shared. Whether under the open-air pavilion or in the reception hall, it’s a true West Texas celebration: full of heart, light, and love.

8:00 PM – Dancing, Firelight, and the Texas Sky

With the stars coming out, the dance floor lights up. Expect George Strait, some ‘90s country classics, and a few hip-hop favorites to get the party going. Fire pits flicker nearby, offering a quiet place for guests to catch up and enjoy the peaceful night. The newlyweds often sneak away here, capturing portraits under the stars or across the shimmering water.

10:00 PM – A Sparkling Send-Off & one last dance

As the night winds down, guests gather with sparklers in hand for a glowing, joyful send-off beneath the wide West Texas sky. But before the couple drives off into their forever, they often return to the ceremony area—now quiet and moonlit—for one final, private dance. Just the two of them, surrounded by the same open sky and still water where it all began. It's the perfect closing note to a day full of unforgettable moments.

At Twin Lakes, we offer more than just a venue—we offer the spirit of West Texas, the charm of Lubbock hospitality, and the kind of memories that last a lifetime. Whether you're a local couple or coming from out of town to say "I do," there’s nothing quite like a Twin Lakes wedding.
