Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get–only with what you are expecting to give–which is everything.

THE LOVE STORY OF

JENNA & GAGE SALYER

PLAINS PHOTOGRAPHY

IT ALL STARTED WHEN…

We met in September of 2023 at H&H Trailer Sales. I was working part-time with my twin sister, Jessie, when Gage walked in with his boss to buy mudflaps.

He says he noticed me instantly —I was super nervous and thought he was really cute.

We started talking about a trailer sitting out front, and when he asked how old it was, I told him, “Probably about 21 years old, like me.” He figured out my age and left with more than mudflaps on his mind.

After he left, Gage looked up H&H’s social media, asked some friends, and eventually found my Snapchat. He reached out, we started talking, and before long, those messages turned into something real.

On October 27, 2023, we started dating — and the rest is our favorite love story.

THE PROPOSAL

On August 11th, 2025, my life changed in the most perfect way.

Gage and I headed to Firesky Vineyards for what I thought was just a couple’s photo shoot — I had booked it months before in May, so nothing about the day seemed unusual. I got my hair and makeup done, feeling excited for pretty pictures, and when Gage arrived at the house, he seemed oddly nervous. A tiny part of me wondered, “Maybe he’s proposing,” but when I looked at his jean pocket and saw no ring box, I brushed the thought away.

We spent about 45 minutes taking photos in the front vineyard, laughing, posing, and enjoying ourselves. Then our photographer told us to walk toward the back as the sun was setting — golden, dreamy, and romantic. She asked me to start walking alone, and Gage didn’t follow. That little thought crept in again, maybe…

Then she told me to turn around — and there was Gage, down on one knee. I froze for a second before bursting into tears — overwhelmed, shocked, and so, so excited.

As soon as I said yes, we hugged and cried, and then I noticed our parents watching from a distance. They came over, hugged us, and shared the moment with us. We took more photos, soaking in every second. When we walked back up to the house, all of our friends and family were waiting — cheering, celebrating, and wrapping us in love. We spent the rest of the evening celebrating under the vineyard lights, smiling nonstop, and feeling on top of the world. It was the best surprise, the sweetest moment, and the perfect beginning to forever. 💍🤍

From the very first day we met — before the first date, before the Snapchat messages turned into late-night talks — there was a quiet certainty between us. Once we introduced each other to our families, we both knew deep down this was it. We weren’t just dating — we were building a future.

Together, we walked through some of life’s biggest chapters: me graduating from Texas Tech in May of 2023, Gage graduating in December of 2025, buying our first home, finding jobs, going on vacations, celebrating milestones, and learning to grow side by side.

WHAT MOMENT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO ON YOUR WEDDING DAY?

We are looking forward to finally being married & then celebrating with our family and friends.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TWIN LAKES?

We chose Twin Lakes because it felt just like everything we would ever want in a venue. We wanted to get married outside, and the outside area is just gorgeous. We love how it is all spread out, and we have room for all of our friends and family. We both come from a agriculture background, and so this setup was just perfect for us. Gage is from Shallowater, and I am from Idalou, and we will be moving to Shallowater, so it was close for both of our families to go to.

ADVICE FOR FUTURE COUPLES:

Keep God at the center of your relationship — in the good days, the busy days, and the hard ones. When your foundation is faith, everything else falls into place.

Enjoy every day you get together. Celebrate the ordinary moments just as much as the big milestones. Always strive to be the best partner for one another — give grace, choose kindness, support each other’s dreams, and never stop growing together.

I genuinely loved the planning process. So many people warn you that planning is stressful, but for me, it was one of the sweetest parts — getting to create something meaningful, choosing all the little details, and watching a dream come to life.

My biggest takeaway is this: enjoy it — don’t rush it. Make decisions based on what you two love, not what you feel pressured to do. For us, that meant creating a day that was simple, classy, and true to who we are — and honoring the one very important request Gage had: Mexican food and a queso fountain.
